Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) earned another praises in the Middle East after a good deed of a Filipino working in Jeddah was caught by camera.
OFW Daoud Balendon went viral on social media after he saved an elderly handicapped Saudi national who got trapped in the middle of the flood in a road located at Abraq al-Rughama, east of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
In the video originally uploaded by Sarah Bande Itliong, the fire fighters allegedly refused to save the elderly man who’s asking to save him as his car was already flooded with water.
According to the sources, the Saudi National had difficulties in walking, that’s why he can’t save himself from the flood.

Fortunately, Balendon who saw the dangerous situation of the Saudi national volunteered to help and decided to descend to the flooded road to bring a life vest to the elder man.
After he successfully reached the man, he took him out of the car and brought him in a safe location to be treated.
In an interview with Saudi Arabia News Outlet Okaz, Balendon said that he’s not afraid of death because he only wanted to save the man from the dangerous situation.
“Hindi ko kayang makita na hayaang malunod lang yung Saudi,” Balendon said in Arabic.
He was also surprised that his good deed went viral on the internet.
Netizens praised Balendon for his braveness and urged the Philippine government to award him for his actions.
Meanwhile, the officials of Jeddah awarded him for his heroic deed.
