Napoles also hopes to walk free after Estrada bail

Businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles hopes to follow the footsteps of former Senator Jinggoy Estrada, who walked free last Saturday after more than three years in detention at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center in Camp Crame.
Lawyer Dennis Buenaventura said he was able to talk to Napoles who was hopeful she will also be released from detention at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology facility in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.
“This is very good for us. We shall go over the actual terms of the resolution, then we will file our own,” Buenaventura said.
In a majority resolution released last Friday, the 5-person Sandiganbayan Special 5th Division allowed Estrada to post bail, mainly because of the Supreme Court's decision acquitting former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
“Mas maganda lang dahil mas luminaw sa GMA case, 'yun ang parang magiging ano, guide. Pero ang factual arguments, ganun pa rin sa dati,” Buenaventura said, adding that they will first be filing a motion before the 5th Division.

Napoles is also facing plunder cases at the Sandiganbayan's 1st and 3rd Division, in relation to the cases of former Sen. Bong Revilla and former Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile, respectively.
Aside from Napoles, the camp of former Senator Bong Revilla also hinted they will be filing a similar motion for his release.
There are two other individuals in detention because of the multi-billion-peso Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam: Atty. Gigi Reyes, former chief of staff of Juan Ponce Enrile, and Atty. Richard Cambe, former staff of Revilla.
