BREAKING NEWS: Knife-wielding suspect shot dead for stabbing Caloocan cop

A man wielding a knife in Caloocan City was shot dead after he stabbed a policeman.
In a report on GMA News' Unang Balita by Mav Gonzales on Monday, the knife-wielding assailant was said to be wandering around Barangay 146 in Caloocan City on Sunday morning.
Closed-circuit television footage showed that the suspect identified as alias "Cesar" was walking on Interior Masikat Street and was being followed by PO1 Ronald Anicete who was in civilian clothing.
"Dumaraan 'yung Cesar na napatay. Eh sinusundan ng pulis na nakasibilyan. Tumakbo ako kasi 'yung mga apo ko nasa labas pa eh. Pinagdadampot ko eh," Ruel Abayon who witnessed the incident said.
Anicete pointed the gun at the suspect while trying to appease him.
However, the suspect stabbed Anicete thrice instead of surrendering.
Anicete managed to shoot Cesar as another responding policeman arrived at the area.
Cesar was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
Anicete was brought to a hospital and is in stable condition.
Meanwhile, Abayon said Cesar has a troubled mind.
"Na-frustrated ata sa asawa niya. Hiniwalayan siya eh. Parang nasiraan ng bait. Hinanap-hanap niya ang asawa niya," he said.
Caloocan City police chief Senior Superintendent Jemar Modequillo said Anicete was only performing his duties when he responded to the incident wearing civilian clothing.
